This course is designed for participants seeking to develop their understanding of Pusher Behaviour in light of the most up to date research. It will provide opportunities for participants’ to reflect on previous clinical exposure to this complex presentation and to work through clinical case studies. The seminars and workshops are designed to enhance participants’ clinical reasoning skills and future stroke practice.
My neurophysiotherapy takes me on a journey of discovery through case analysis, application, and evaluation. My role is one of clinician, mentor/teacher and researcher but as an integral whole, my ethos is about a shared experience and knowledge that is three way: the client, the clinician and me.

Applying expert knowledge and practice about neurological movement and functional performance in order to equip the therapist-clinician with the means to re-enable and adapt their client’s function within a given environment. Broadening horizons of a clinician’s therapeutic effectiveness through the amalgamation of evidence-based practice, the assimilation of research and the recognition of clinical expertise. Consolidating skills in order to maintain and continually improve the quality of therapeutic intervention and the dynamic interaction between research, evidence-based practice and clinical expertise. In turn, this will improve standards and the efficacy of re-enabling the client, giving them the skills for self-management and autonomy in their daily life.
ABC neurophysiotherapy ethos embraces you, the client, at its centre: it promotes your wishes, expectations and goals for re-enablement within the context of the therapist’s expert guidance. Applying expert therapeutic approaches to you, the client, will give you the means to optimise your body movement in your environment. You will learn about how the body functions in the context of your condition and how you can best take control of how you wish your body to move. Broadening horizons in supporting realistic patient expectations through goal-setting , education and adaptation to the environment. Consolidating skills in order to maintain and maximise your learning through transferring your skills in everyday life. In turn, this will equip you to nurture your ability to self-manage your condition and to pursue autonomy in your daily living.
